The number of visits varies from patient to patient, depending on the severity and chronicity of their condition. While some may notice positive changes within a few appointments, if a problem has been present for many years, it can take longer. From experience, we often see improvement around 2-3 months of consistent, regular chiropractic adjustments, as an initial 3 months of corrective care can help change the physiology.

How long do treatments usually take?

Chiropractic adjustment sessions are nice and quick, usually taking between 5-15 minutes, making it easier for our patients to fit appointments into their busy lives.

Yes, more often than not, we can get you booked in on the same day. While we highly recommend pre-booked appointments, we understand everyone's schedule is different and will always do our best to find a suitable time for you.

Will I receive treatment on my first visit?

Receiving treatment on your first visit is not guaranteed and depends on several circumstances. Our focus on the first visit is to gather comprehensive information about your condition. If, after the history and physical examination, the chiropractor is confident with their diagnosis and no red flags are identified (which would require further investigation), treatment might be performed. However, if you are a regular patient who has been transferred from another chiropractic practice and have had prior chiropractic care in the last 3 months, we will likely adjust you, given it is safe to do so.

Will I need X-rays?

The need for X-rays is determined on a patient-by-patient basis by the chiropractor during your first visit, based on whether they need more information. It is likely that we will order X-rays if we identify vertebral subluxations as the root cause of your complaint. This is done to ensure your safety by ruling out any potential red flags and to show us the severity and chronicity of the underlying problem.

Yes, chiropractic care is a very safe and effective modality for treating musculoskeletal complaints. While there is a very small risk of injury with anything in life, our chiropractors are highly trained to perform thorough checks to minimise any risk to our patients and will select adjustment types they believe you will respond best to.

No, this is a common misconception. Everyone has their own aim and purpose for utilising chiropractic care, and the amount of care you receive is your choice. However, many of our patients choose to come back monthly for maintenance visits, as we highly recommend clients maintain their spinal health after completing their initial corrective care to stay on top of their spinal health and for prevention.

No, you do not need a referral to see a chiropractor. However, we welcome any information about your current and past health history.

Does Medicare cover chiropractic?

Accepted Answer

No, Medicare does not directly cover chiropractic care. However, your GP may provide you with a Chronic Disease Management Plan (GPMP) if you are eligible. This plan can assist you short-term with the cost of your visits, covering a portion of up to five allied health services (including chiropractic) in a calendar year. Please ask your GP if you are eligible and could benefit from such a plan.
